Thorlabs' ECB Series offers varied sizes of compact enclosures designed for integrating custom electronic device assemblies. The ECB series has been optimized for the simple assembly, disassembly, and integration of electronics. The enclosures consist of two pieces: a bottom/front piece with four interior M3 blind standoffs and an M4 ground screw, and a flanged top with cutouts for mounting to an imperial or metric breadboard or optical table. The front and rear panels of the enclosure are blank to allow for input and output ports, buttons, switches, indicator lights, fiber ports and more to be added by the user as needed.
Enclosures can be easily stacked on top of one another using 25 mm Optical Rails and the ECBA1 mounting adapters, sold below. Alternatively, the ECBA1 adapters are standardized to a broad range of transverse rails and thus allow the ECB series enclosures to be mounted vertically in standard equipment racks.

- Empty Housings for Electronic Assemblies
- Simplified Benchtop Design
The ECB Series benchtop enclosures are designed for ease of assembly, modification, and installation of benchtop electronic assemblies. The empty enclosure is sold with blank front and rear panels, allowing for added input and output ports, buttons, switches, indicator lights and more depending on the application. Six M3 screws, two on each side and two on the rear panel, secure the pieces together. The ECB6 and ECB7 enclosures include an additional M3 screw on top for additional stability.
Four padded feet are included to provide support when the enclosure is sitting flat on a table. Additional, the enclosure can be mounted to imperial or metric optical tables using the cutouts in the flanges, see Figures G1.1 and G1.2.

Zoom- Secure Multiple Stacked Enclosures to Benchtop With Optical Rails
- Mount Enclosures on 19" Equipment Racks
The ECBA1 Mounting Adapters enable the ECB series enclosures to be mounted vertically on a 19" rack system by using a transverse mounting rail or horizontally on a breadboard by using 25 mm Optical Rails. The ECBA1 adapter is attached to the front or back of the enclosure with two M3 flat head countersunk screws, extending out 27 mm from the chassis in a 5 mm mounting slot that is compatible with a broad range of transverse rails and rack systems. By using 25 mm optical rails, multiple ECB series enclosures can be stacked on top of one another.
