If you wish to run ThorCam, you can exit this page and run it from the start menu (Press the Start button, then select Thorlabs -> Scientific Imaging -> ThorCam).

Save Time. Identify Your Camera Family!

Regardless of your purchase or driver selection, you will see folders and files for all of our camera families. Though all run with ThorCam, their underlying drivers, SDK, and third-party support are different in some cases and will not necessarily interoperate under a given interface! Save time by identifying your camera family and selecting only the support required for your camera.

Scientific Cameras have a large black and red aluminum case. All cameras in the Scientific family share the same drivers (USB 3.0, Camera Link, and Gigabit Ethernet) and SDK. The Scientific and the Compact Scientific family (below) share the same USB driver.

Scientific Cameras

 

Compact Scientific Cameras have a smaller black and red aluminum case than Scientific and are USB only. The Compact Scientific Camera family and the Scientific family (above) share the same USB driver and .NET interface. In the future, they will share the same SDK.

DCC- or DCU- (also referred to as DCx) Compact USB Cameras are small with either a black/stainless steel or grey plastic case, depending on the model. The DCx Camera family has its own USB drivers, SDK, and third-party support.
