Thorlabs PM103E Optical Ethernet Power and Energy Meter - Firmware Changelog --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This firmware is a device internal program for PM103E Optical Power and Energy Meters Installation Instruction ------------------------ In order to update the PM103E firmware, the firmware image (file extension *.dfu) and the Thorlabs Optical Power Monitor (OPM) are required. You will find it installed to your computer after downloading and installing the Thorlabs Power Meter Software package from our web site. There (tab "Firmware") the up-to-date firmware image can be found as well. Please download it and remember the location on your computer where you saved it to. 1. Start the Thorlabs Optical Power Monitor (OPM) and navigate: Help -> Tools -> Firmware Update Tool 2. In the Welcome screen click Browse and select the previously downloaded .dfu file. 3. Select "Update firmware over Ethernet" Ensure PM103E is connected via Ethernet and you know the currenly used IP address. If NetBIOS is active on your LAN you can also use the hostname of the device instead of the IP address. Note: DFU Default port is 27007. If it has been set to 0, the update via Ethernet is deactivated. In the OPM type in IP address or hostname and DFU Port. 4. Click Next. The tool scans for the PM103E. 5. The OPM lists the Powermeter. Click "Start" to begin DFU upload. 6. The update tool software switches the PM103E to DFU upload mode and begins to transfer the firmware image. The progress can be observed at the Update Tool. Do NOT interrupt the process, this may cause your PM103E to become inoperable! 7. When the transfer has completed click Finish. The Update Tool application closes, and the PM103E reboots with the new firmware.
