Thorlabs RoHS Compliance Statement

RoHS Logo

The European Union's directive 2002/95/EC, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), limits the use of certain hazardous substances commonly used in the manufacturing of electronic equipment, and requires producers of electronic equipment to reduce the concentration of these hazardous materials. Effective July 1, 2006, the directive recognizes that there are specific situations where this is either not practical or possible, and allows exemptions for specific materials and/or specific conditions in its annex pages.

As a supplier of many products and components that are potentially used within electronic-based systems, Thorlabs recognizes our responsibility to comply with the RoHS directive. We continue to be fully committed to offering RoHS compliant products whenever it is technically feasible.

Thorlabs has in place a comprehensive evaluation and analysis program, both internally and with our suppliers, to establish and publish RoHS compliance status for as many of our products as possible. We achieved this through a combination of supplier certification and engineering design. Additionally, we have provided our customers with a quick and easy method of obtaining part-specific RoHS Certificates of Conformance through our website.
