T4286 SMA Straight M-F
T4282 SMA Elbow M-F
T8535 SMA DC Blocking Filter
Thorlabs offers four types of SMA adapters: a straight female-to-female adapter, a straight male-to-male adapter, a straight male-to-female adapter, and an elbow female-to-male adapter. We also have a wide-bandwidth DC blocking filter, which is incorporated directly into an SMA feedthrough connector. It is used for applications where a DC offset is problematic, and has a frequency range of 7 kHz to 23 GHz. The insertion loss is less than 0.5dB in the 100 kHz to 12.4 GHz range, and 0.75 dB in the 12.4 to 23 GHz range.

T4119 BNC In-Line Terminator
VT1 Variable Terminator
T4119 is a 50 Ω feed-through terminator, which provides the ideal termination needed for our DET series of detectors to achieve maximum bandwidth. VT1 is a 50 Ω to 50 kΩ variable terminator. The outer rotary barrel can be switched among seven discrete resistance settings (50 Ω, 100 Ω, 500 Ω, 1 kΩ, 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ, and 50 kΩ). This variable terminator is commonly used with photodiodes. When a reverse bias is applied to a photodiode (i.e., when operating in the photoconductive mode), a small photocurrent results. This current is typically detected by measuring the potential drop across a terminating resistor. However, since each absorbed photon causes the excitation of one electron from the valence band into the conduction band, the resulting current is very small. It is helpful to increase the impedance of the termination resistor while aligning the photodiode for optimal signal detection because the increased impedance will result in a larger, and thus easier to measure, potential drop (V = IR). However, by increasing the termination resistance, the detector’s response time (τ = RC) will be decreased since the capacitance of the photodiode circuit is usually fixed. Therefore, variable terminators such as the VT1 are a convenient tool because they enable you to use high termination resistance while maximizing signal strength during alignment, and then once alignment is achieved, you can easily switch to a lower resistance to achieve maximum bandwidth.
